Writing a Constitution

Names

Names of orgs wishing to include “St. Olaf” must be “___________ Club/Org at St. Olaf College.” All student organization names should not start with St. Olaf. This has to do with college liability & to keep all groups better organized alphabetically.

Non-discriminatory Clause

All student organizations must have the non-discriminatory clause in their constitution. Orgs will not be recognized without it.

“ORGANIZATION does not discriminate in its membership or activities on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, age, religion or religious creed, disability or handicap, sex or gender (including pregnancy, sexual harassment and other sexual misconduct including acts of sexual violence such as rape, sexual assault, sexual exploitation and coercion), gender identity and/or expression (including a transgender identity), or sexual orientation.”
