Congratulations on making it through the harsh Minnesota winter! Hopefully, you stopped by our tabling event last Thursday—we had a blast handing out cookies and talking to everyone about BORSC and current issues facing students. Thank you all for coming! This week, we have some updates on our work with Regents and are seeking your input for an upcoming presentation! We’ve been hard at work interviewing Regents: Audrey Hoehner ‘23 and Bergen Senf ‘24 spoke with Rev. William O. Gafkjen '79, Fricka Lindemann ‘22 spoke with Laurie Nordquist '81, Phumelele Mncina ‘24 spoke with Jennifer Hellman ‘98, Edwin Le ‘21 and Dan Reiter ‘23 spoke with John Grotting ‘71, and Providence Diomedi ‘23 and Fenton Krupp ‘24 spoke with Gretchen Morgenson '76. Having conversations with Regents has been an illuminating experience, and we can’t wait to tell you all about them. We’ll be publishing summaries from those interviews as soon as we can, and we’re excited to speak with even more members of the Board soon! Also, we met with members of the President’s Leadership Team to learn what they are currently working on. We’re beginning work for our presentation at the Board of Regents Meeting this May, and we want your thoughts on what we should tell the Board about! We generally research one pressing issue facing students on campus and provide the Board with suggestions for improvements. So far in the 20-21 school year, we’ve presented on COVID-19, racism on campus, and mental health issues.
