You have yourself a deal.

The Student Government Association’s Projects and Capital Improvements Fund is an amount of money to be allocated toward physical improvements on campus to better the St. Olaf Community. This year there is approximately a $50,000 sum to be utilized – and we need your help in creating change!

First Steps:

  • Goal: Come up with any idea that can physically better St. Olaf’s community. Examples in the past include: 

    • The booths and tables on the first floor of Buntrock Commons!

    • Trees to plant for Arbor Day in the Natural Lands

    • Compost bin by the Cage

    • Funds to repaint the Disc Golf Course

  • We plan on receiving many applications, so odds are we can’t fund them all. The Senate will be looking for the most impactful ideas, so make sure to think through the costs!

  • Individuals and groups are all welcome to submit their ideas

  • Improvements can be as small as $100 requests or as large as you think the Senate would reasonably pass!

  • Questions concerning the ability to implement your idea can be directed to Senate Chair, Michael Paredes (parede1@stolaf.edu) and the Director of Student Activities, Brandon Joseph Cash (cash@stolaf.edu)

  • Applications close at 11:59pm on Friday, February 11th, 2022  

  • If selected, you will receive an email with an invitation to present at the SGA Senate Meeting on Tuesday, February 15th!

  • Final Decisions will be made that evening to be implemented in the Spring

All Oles have the opportunity to make a change they are passionate about seeing on campus! The Projects and Capital Fund, via Senate, will be accepting proposals for projects and will be funding some of the most creative and innovative proposals!
