Meal Plans
The Survey
SGA’s Senate Ideas
Is it possible for students to choose the number of meals they want with the range from 14-21 meals? Flex dollars would be proportional to the number in plans now.
Administer survey on Oleville.com asking how many meals students would want.
Check with Bon Appetit to see how cost would be affected if we allowed students to use their X number of meals whenever they wanted. For example, a student would not be locked into using only one meal per meal, rather they could use two for dinner if they wanted. In a sense, this would give guest passes.
Gather information as to how many meals each student uses given each meal plan they are on. For example, what is the average number of meals a student uses if they are on 14, 17 or 21 meals?
Explain where money goes for board plans. Maybe a graphical illustration similar to how Theoatmeal.com. This will hopefully help to clarify where money goes. This could include a video as well, walking through the caf with administrator of the school and Bon Appetit. Our goal is build trust with students, St. Olaf and Bon Appetit because students seem to think they are getting ripped off.
Suggest number of meals to be offered for next year.
Once meals are figured out, give this information to students with rational. We think it’s time to include the entire student body in on this conversation and make a system that works for everyone.
